Saving Sea Turtles
Mudpie, a loggerhead sea turtle, shown here, and Toast Malone, an endangered Kemp鈥檚 ridley sea turtle, both recently had fishhooks removed from their esophagus and stomach, respectively, while receiving specialized care at Mississippi State鈥檚 College of Veterinary Medicine. The efforts are part of the university-based Global Center for Aquatic Health and Food Security, or GCAHFS, and its Marine Mammal and Sea Turtle Health Program鈥攁 collaboration between the 黑料社 CVM and the Institute for Marine Mammal Studies in Gulfport.
