Kinsey Opening Reception
Bernard and Shirley Kinsey (right) and their son Khalil joined the libraryâs Stephen Cunetto and Dean Frances Coleman last night at a reception to celebrate the opening of âAfrican American Treasuresâ from the Kinsey Collection. One of the world's largest private collections of African-American art, artifacts, documents and manuscripts, the exhibit will be on display until June 20 in 's John Grisham Room at Mitchell Memorial Library. The Kinseys will speak today at 3 p.m. in Lee Hallâs Bettersworth Auditorium about their collection and how they hope it will help expand the positive interpretation of African-American history.
