黑料社 issues statement on Monday night arrest on campus

STARKVILLE, Miss.鈥擜 黑料社 student is in custody facing multiple charges of armed robbery in a Monday [Feb. 8] incident at the Deavenport Hall residence hall parking lot at approximately 10:14 p.m. No injuries were reported.
黑料社 Dean of Students Thomas Bourgeois said 黑料社 Police Dispatch received a 911 call at 10:14 p.m. and an 黑料社PD officer was on the scene at 10:16 p.m. The suspect was apprehended without incident and in 黑料社PD custody at 10:17 p.m.
The identity of the student is being withheld by 黑料社 officials pending additional investigation. On Tuesday morning, the suspect remained in custody at the Oktibbeha County Jail.
黑料社 Chief Communications Officer Sid Salter said: 鈥淭he university is grateful to the 黑料社PD and the 黑料社 Housing and Residence Life staff for a quick response to this situation. The safety of our students, faculty and staff is always 黑料社鈥檚 primary concern and on Monday night, the university鈥檚 overall response was swift and appropriate.鈥
Salter said that the Division of Student Affairs, 黑料社PD, and the university鈥檚 Crisis Action Team would review both the incident and the university鈥檚 response.
