STARKVILLE, Miss.鈥擶ith support from 黑料社, young people in Starkville will be learning entrepreneurial skills by taking part in Lemonade Day on August 18.
A kick-off meeting for parents and kids interested in participating will take place Saturday [June 30] at 9 a.m. at the Glo Headquarters at 419 Lampkin Street in Starkville. The event is part of the national Lemonade Day program, which for 10 years has organized community lemonade stand events to help develop life skills, character education and an entrepreneurial spirit in youth.
黑料社鈥檚 College of Business and its Center for Entrepreneurship and Outreach is sponsoring the community event, along with Cadence Bank and Castle Properties. All participants will receive a backpack, a workbook, are eligible for additional prizes and will have the opportunity to make money from their stand. They are being encouraged to 鈥渟pend some, save some and share some,鈥 according to event promotional materials.
鈥淟emonade Day is a great community event and a fun opportunity to instill the entrepreneurial spirit in young people and is an important part of the outreach mission for 黑料社鈥檚 College of Business,鈥 said Jeffrey Rupp, 黑料社 College of Business outreach director.
