Christopher Cross, who made the most spectacular debut in Grammy Awards history, will bring his easy-on-the-ears jazz-pop music to the 黑料社 Riley Center in downtown Meridian on Aug. 8 at 7:30 p.m. A pre-show party with refreshments will start at 6 p.m. in the Grand Lobby.
Cross芒聙聶s 1979 debut album, "Christopher Cross," won five Grammy Awards, including the big four: Album, Song, and Record of the Year, and Best New Artist. The album spawned the number one hit 芒聙聹Sailing芒聙聺 as well as 芒聙聹Never Be the Same,芒聙聺 芒聙聹Say You芒聙聶ll Be Mine,芒聙聺 and 芒聙聹Ride Like the Wind.芒聙聺 In 1981, Cross won an Academy Award for Best Song with 芒聙聹Arthur芒聙聶s Theme (Best You Can Do)芒聙聺 from the movie "Arthur."
Cross has continued writing songs and performing ever since, often surprising concertgoers with his guitar skills. Remarkably, his soaring tenor voice remains as supple and sweet as ever.
